Catholic Charities of Orange County is part of the network of Catholic Charities USA, one of the largest nonprofit charitable organizations in the country. As our mission states, we exist to serve God’s people in need without regard to their religious affiliation.

WHO WE ARE

Since 1976, Catholic Charities has fed the hungry, consoled the hurting, and cared for the marginalized. We provide help and create hope for the people of Orange County. One person and one family at a time, we do everything we can for those in need with what is given to us.

Catholic Charities of Orange County is excited to announce the 2025 Doodle for Charities contest is now open!⁠ ⁠ We invite you to showcase your creativity and talent by creating artwork using the CCOC logo to express the elements of Lent: prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.⁠ ⁠ Make sure to submit your artwork before 11:59 pm on Friday, April 25th.⁠ First, second, and third place winners of each category will be awarded a cash prize and invited to an award ceremony and luncheon to celebrate!⁠ ⁠ Please visit our bio to learn more and to enter the contest. ⁠ ⁠

In today’s Lenten Journey, we highlight New Hope Counseling Services Director Sharon St. Pierre, LCSW. Sharon’s dedication and expertise help our Catholic School children do better at home and at school. Together with her group of licensed clinicians, they support the mental health of students in our 13 Catholic schools, in bully-prevention groups with built-in human dignity curriculum, as well in individual sessions, and in group-learning activities, practice class observation, along with training teachers to better serve their students. What a wonderful message for Lent! Back in 2023, when we were filming our original Walking With Christ series (linked in our bio), we visited St. Kilian Catholic Church in Mission Viejo to learn about the art of the Lenten Fish Fry. Fr. Tuan Pham, now a Parochial Administrator at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Irvine, was at the time not only serving the Catholic community as a priest in Mision Viejo but was also a Chef de Cuisine at St. Kilian's Fish Fry! @stkilianmv This Lent, Catholic Charities of Orange County invites you to embark on a journey of hope, renewal, and giving. Together, let us embrace the pillars of Lent: prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, as we grow closer to Christ.
