New Hope Peer-To-Peer Support Line
New Hope is proud to have been a program of Catholic Charities of Orange County since June 2013. Originally founded in 1968, New Hope has trained volunteer peer listeners to answer our faith-based, telephone support line (1-714-NEW-HOPE) for more than 50 years.
The support line’s operating hours are:
Mon – Fri | 7:30 AM – 9:30 PM
Sat – Sun | 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
(Please note: We are not a drop-in service and do not provide any face-to-face services.)
The New Hope Peer-to-Peer Support Line’s mission is to provide a free of charge telephone support line that offers nonjudgmental peer listening and Christian love to anyone seeking help. No call is turned away during the support line’s operating hours, and no issue is too small to be heard. Each volunteer is committed to provide active listening, empathy, compassion, grief support, crisis intervention, suicide assessment & intervention, goal-setting, prayer, and community referrals to hurting people. We serve all people no matter what their gender, color, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic status, lifestyle, or geographic location.
Our volunteers are all friendly and caring people and will be glad to assist anyone who needs to talk about any issue they are having. We provide free, year-round live training class series to train new volunteers to join us. If you wish to be part of our team, please contact our Director, Dr. Louise S. Dunn at 714.620.8810 or Email Dr. Dunn.
