Easter Basket Distribution

The Catholic tradition teaches that the needs of the poor and vulnerable should come first, and the love for the poor is a promotion of justice. Catholic Charities of Orange County strives to care for the members of our community that are in need through the various programs and services they provide. Among those services is the Cantlay Food Distribution Center, which is a drive-through service that provides food to families and individuals in need, including fresh vegetables, eggs, milk, and canned/packaged food.
On April 9, 2021, the Cantlay Food Distribution Center had a special Easter event where they distributed Easter meals and Easter baskets to the low-income members of the Orange County community. In addition to fresh produce, the holiday meal also included ribs donated by Monarch Trading. The Easter baskets, which were fundraiser-driven, provided the children with items they would not usually receive during the holidays due to their circumstances, such as Play-Doh, crayons, coloring books, toothbrushes, toothpaste, sunglasses, and more. Students from Mater Dei and Santa Margarita Catholic High Schools graciously volunteered to help raise funds and distribute Easter baskets at the event.

Caridades Católicas del condado de Orange se esfuerza por cuidar a los miembros de nuestra comunidad que están en necesidad a través de los diversos programas y servicios que proporcionan. Entre esos servicios se encuentra el Centro de Distribución de Alimentos de Cantlay, en donde se proporcionan alimentos incluyendo vegetales frescos, huevos, leche, además de alimentos enlatados/envasados a familias y personas necesitadas.
El 9 de abril de 2021, el Centro de Distribución de Alimentos de Cantlay tuvo un evento especial de Pascua donde distribuyeron comidas y canastas de Pascua a personas de bajos recursos de la comunidad del Condado de Orange. Además de los productos frescos, la comida festiva también incluía costillas donadas por Monarch Trading. Las cestas de Pascua, que fueron impulsadas por la recaudación de fondos, proporcionaron a los niños artículos que normalmente no obtendrían durante las fiestas debido a sus circunstancias, como Play-Doh, lápices de colores, libros para colorear, cepillos de dientes, pasta de dientes, gafas de sol, y más. Los estudiantes de las escuelas secundarias católicas Mater Dei y Santa Margarita amablemente se ofrecieron para ayudar a recaudar fondos y distribuir canastas de Pascua en el evento.
