IMMIGRATION ATTORNEY (FULL TIME, EXEMPT) POSITION DESCRIPTION: Maintain caseload of clients eligible for immigration remedies such as U Visas, VAWA, Adjustments of Status, Provisional Waivers, etc. Review and make recommendations on complicated cases (predominantly naturalization) which may include reviewing client court records or advising on possible issues of deportability/inadmissibility. Provides professional guidance to program staff who handle routine and moderately complex cases for low and moderate-income groups. Conducts legal assessment and review of complex cases to determine eligibility for immigration benefits and need for referral to other legal providers. Write legal memos as needed. IMMIGRATION OUTREACH WORKER (20-32 HOURS PER WEEK) POSITION DESCRIPTION: Schedule and represent Catholic Charities of Orange County at outreach events to promote awareness of CCOC services to process citizenship and other immigration applications. The outreach worker will schedule community outreach and education events and assist immigration department to organize application assistance workshops in the community and on site. The outreach worker will also perform other outreach activities as needed to promote the immigration department services. Weekends and evening work will be required, in addition to some local travel. NUTRITION EDUCATOR/AIDE (20-30 hours per week) POSITION DESCRIPTION: To provide nutrition education to the SNAP-Ed (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) eligible population. Specific duties include: providing one-on-one general nutrition education as well as general nutrition education in a classroom or group setting; staffing health fairs, policy systems environmental changes and other community or promotional events where nutrition education is a focus; distributing linguistically and culturally appropriate nutrition education materials; assisting with writing project reports and preparation of quarterly reports; and maintaining program reporting and tracking systems. IMMIGRATION COUNSELOR- BILINGUAL ENGLISH/SPANISH (40 hours per week) POSITION DESCRIPTION: Assists clients with petitions for immigration benefits; initiates and followsthrough with immigration and citizenship procedures on behalf of clients and within the laws and regulations of the Immigration and Naturalization Services and translates documents requiring bilingual skills in English and Spanish.
