As we approach the Easter Triduum, starting with Holy Thursday and the Lord’s washing of His disciples’ feet (John 13:1-15), let us hold this same servant mindset as we strive to put others before ourselves.

“If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another’s feet. I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do.”
- John 13:14-15

In our final episode of our Walking With Christ series, we reflect on how “Lent is a time... that enlightens us and makes us understand better that we too, like Christ, must serve.”
What is prayer? What is almsgiving? On this Palm Sunday we invite you to watch St. Anne’s and La Purisima Catholic school students talk about these two pillars of Lent.

“Lent is a time of truth, which, as in the case of the Good Samaritan, makes us pause, recognize our brothers and sisters, and put our time and possessions at their service in daily sharing. The Good Samaritan is the Church! The Good Samaritan is every man and woman! By calling! By duty! The Good Samaritan lives charity.” - Saint Pope John Paul II

We invite you to revisit last year’s Walking With Christ Video Series, available on our YouTube channel in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. The series features Saint Pope John Paul II’s 1981 Message for Lent, reflections by Msgr. Stephen Doktorczyk, and students from Catholic Schools in our Diocese!
We share our Lenten experience through Culture and Faith. In this video, from our original 2023 Walking With Christ Series, we visit the Saint John Paul II Polish Center in Yorba Linda, CA to learn about #pisanki Easter Egg coloring tradition, wonderfully upheld by Helena Modrzejewska Polish School teachers and students @yorbalindapolishcenter

The art of pisanki is cultivated in Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania and many other East and Central Europe countries.
